General Operator - CB1 - M Job Description

We are seeking a **General Operator** to work on the production floor of our **Cornwall** Site. This position is vital to manufacturing of paint and coatings for our industrial products line.

The entry position will act as a helper and move around to other jobs at the site to assist team members by performing other tasks where needed.
- Position duties and responsibilities can change regularly based on business needs.
- The position is full-time shift work (40 hours per week).
- There may be opportunity for overtime once fully trained.
- Keen focus on safety performing all duties in a safe working manner and following all Axalta’s safety policies and procedures.
- Learn about Axalta Coatings System and promote safety, quality and sustainability.

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum high school or equivalent diploma
- Previous experience in manufacturing or chemical industry an asset
- Training provided for all positions
- Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs and roll 500lb drums
- Physically able to perform the tasks required of this position.
- Full range of physical motion is required (push, pull, twist, bend, lift, reach up/down)
- Clean Shaven so as able to wear a respirator as needed
- Ability to read and write English and follow written and verbal instruction in English
- Flexible and willing to learn new skills
- Strong team player with positive attitude
- Fast learner who is self-directed and adaptable to change and frequently shifting priorities
- Able to acquire and maintain a lift truck license (training provided)

**This role rotates every other week between 1st shift (7am-3pm, Monday-Friday), and 2nd shift (3pm-1am, Monday-Thursday).**
