**What would my role be?**

Reporting to the Manager, Facilities, and under the guidance of the senior preventive maintenance technician, you will:

- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on a wide variety of patient care equipment, appliances, and other mechanical and refrigeration equipment.

**How do I qualify?**

Required:

- Two (2) year community college diploma from a recognized institution or apprenticeship program in a relevant field such as Building Maintenance, HVAC & Refrigeration
- Minimum of three (3) years of years of diversified work experience in the maintenance of buildings and equipment, preferably in a hospital environment

Preferred:

- Valid Ontario or Inter-provincial license in a trade related to building maintenance
- Fluent in French and English

**What skills should I possess to succeed in the role?**
- Able to perform activities requiring considerable standing, walking, bending, reaching, pulling/pushing and transferring equipment and material
- Able to demonstrate respect, patience and compassion toward patients and residents
- Able to work in a team environment
- Able to understand forms and reports when working from blueprints or specifications
- Strong visual acuity for reading blueprints and working with small parts
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to a changing work environment
- Able to work with little supervision and to exercise independent decision making and judgement in the performance of all duties
- Able to work safely and effectively with maintenance tools and equipment
- Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Basic computer skills
