This position promotes and enhances licensed quality early childhood care and education for children and their families by working through on-site consultations with the owners and supervisors of licensed centres.

**Duties will include but are not limited to**:

- Conducting research and providing written documentation specific to program needs;
- Providing policy support to Early Childhood staff, parents, and Early Childhood boards, regarding philosophy of practice;
- Administering rating scales and other tools which evaluate quality practices within programs;
- Providing support through evaluation, planning, observation, and development of written annual action plans;
- Jointly identifying training needs of early childhood supervisors and staff;
- Providing in-service training as required;
- Identifying professional development training needs of the Early Childhood sector to the Early Childhood Development Association (ECDA);
- Matching staffing units with staff in other programs that share common needs and interests;
- Modelling coaching strategies with Early Childhood staff and supervisors;
- Identifying strengths, challenges and opportunities for growth;
- Defining the many dimensions of quality by supporting self-reflective practices;
- Providing support to educators in meeting individual goals for children as set by parents, pre-school special needs teams and other specialists;
- Supporting a community of learning within the Early Childhood sector; and
- Other duties as required.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Applicants must have a degree in early childhood education, child study or related area of study in social sciences/education;
- Must hold or be eligible to hold an Early Childhood Educator Certificate under the _Early Learning and Child Care Act;_
- Extensive experience in a licensed early childhood development program;
- Experience determining needs and offering training for adults;
- Considerable experience in developing children’s programs for infants to school age;
- Extensive experience in a licensed early childhood development program;
- Experience determining needs and offering training for adults;
- Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered;
- Extensive knowledge in child development;
- Proficiency in oral and written communication, facilitation skills, interpersonal relations, organizational abilities and team building skills are necessary;
- Effective organizational, analytical, problem-solving and time-management skills, with a proven ability to problem solve;
- Good interpersonal, presentation and conflict resolution skills;
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle;
- Good previous work attendance record and a satisfactory Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check;
**Other Qualifications**:

- Bilingualism would be considered an asset.

**Preference will be given to UPSE Civil Employees as per the UPSE Civil Collective Agreement.**
