RVS is situated on the traditional territories of the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta including the Siksikaitsitapi (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, Amskapi Pikuni), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations (Bearspaw, Chiniki, Goodstoney), and the Rocky View Métis District.
The Opportunity
services at their assigned Rocky View Schools (RVS) facilities. The Caretaker II is responsible for keeping
school buildings, grounds, contents, and furnishings in good appearance and in clean, tidy, sanitary
condition, as assigned by their supervisor. In addition, the Caretaker II supports and assists the HBO as
directed.
Responsibilities Include
Attention to detail related to varied and complex cleaning tasks
Ability to work independently and perform assigned tasks within a team environment
Demonstrated pride in workmanship
Performs building security checks as scheduled by the Head Building Operator
Keeps assigned sidewalks, steps, and entrances free from ice and snow
Experience working in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety, WHMIS and other relevant legislation
Education/Experience
Previous cleaning experience is considered an asset
Certifications from cleaning organization is considered an asset
Previous experience within a school division is considered an asset
An equivalent combination of Education and Experience may be considered
Knowledge/Skills
Working knowledge of proper cleaning procedure
Ability to successfully work in a team environment as well as independently with mínimal
supervision
Effective written and verbal communication skills
