Some of your key responsibilities as a Framing Carpenter will include, but are not limited to:
**Responsibilities**:

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
- Fabricate, construct, and repair structural woodwork and wood products by following blueprints, drawings, and oral instructions, using carpentry tools and equipment.
- Produce carpentry products and services by following standards and procedures.
- Determine material requirements and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated by studying blueprints, sketches, or building plans.
- Construct, repair, and install structures or fixtures by marking cutting and assembly lines on materials.
- Shaping materials to measurements.
- Assembling and fastening cut and shaped materials.
- Using carpenter’s hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
- Ensure construction quality by verifying the trueness of the structure with a plumb bob, carpenter’s level, and other measurements.
- Comply with federal, provincial, and local building codes by adhering to requirements.
- Ensure the operation of carpentry equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Ability to read carpentry blueprints, and drawings and follow relevant instructions.
- Ability to safely work with carpentry tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
- Ability to derive accurate estimations for material required by reading blueprints, sketches, or building plans.
- Proficiency with layouts and ability to draw them.
- Ability to read and implement measurements on the material.
- Ability to properly verify the quality of the job using relevant equipment.
- Understand and communicate spoken and written English.

- Surrey, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

- carpentry: 2 years (preferred)
