**Position Overview**

The Junior Buyer is responsible for executing day-to-day purchasing functions for raw materials, components, and indirect goods required to support hot tub manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, this role ensures timely procurement of quality materials to maintain optimal inventory levels and support uninterrupted production flow. The Production Buyer plays a key role in building supplier relationships, ensuring data integrity, and supporting the transition to a more structured MRP-based purchasing environment.

**Duties**
**Purchasing & Procurement**
- Issue and manage purchase orders for raw materials, production components, and indirect supplies.
- Monitor open orders to ensure on-time delivery and follow up with suppliers as needed.
- Resolve delivery discrepancies, pricing variances, and invoice issues in coordination with AP and receiving.
- Maintain accurate item and supplier data within the ERP/MRP system.

**Inventory Support**
- Support inventory replenishment based on usage, safety stock levels, and MRP recommendations.
- Track inventory availability for production-critical items and flag potential stockouts.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and root cause analysis of variances.
- Training of stockroom operators.
- Assist the production floor and stockroom operator as necessary.

**Supplier Coordination**
- Communicate daily with vendors on order status, lead times, and delivery issues.
- Work closely Supplier Relations Lead to support contract reviews, pricing updates, and supplier scorecards.
- Ensure up to date supplier documentation, including but not limited to Certificates of Analysis (CoA), freight certificates, custom documentation, etc.

**Cross-Functional Support**
- Liaise with Planning, Production, Quality, and Receiving to align material flow with factory needs.
- Coordinate with Shipping and Receiving to conduct incoming inspections on raw materials
- Provide input with new supplier onboarding processes and material evaluations.
- Assist in the implementation of blanket PO agreements, forecasting tools, and lead time monitoring.
- Assist in critical daily tasks for Planning/Scheduling, Production and Logistics, as needed.
- Help develop and maintain KPI’s.

**MRP Transition & System Use**
- Use ERP/MRP system to drive purchasing decisions.
- Support implementation and validation of MRP planning logic.
- Participate in testing and feedback during MRP rollout phases.

**Qualifications & Experience**
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing or buying role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Collaborative and professional demeanor.
- On-site role based at the Surrey Beachcomber Manufacturing Facility.
- Fast-paced production environment with regular cross-departmental interactions
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is essential.
- Experience in working with suppliers in North America and overseas preferred.

**Preferred Certifications**
- SCMP, ASCM, APICS, CPIM, or CSCP considered an asset.
- Forklift Certification is preferred but not essential.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
