We are a unique learning center that truly applies a holistic approach. The student-to-teacher ratio is typically 5-to-1 so we can provide one-on-one support, customization, and flexibility.

This role involves facilitating, teaching, and inspiring our students to reach higher personal potential. You will get the opportunity to facilitate and assist students 1-to-1 on a variety of programs such as: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); academic upgrading (math, English, ESL); and career-specific diploma/certificate programs such as Customer Service, and Office Administration just to name a few.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- An Ontario diploma or degree from a post-secondary institution is required.
- Must have at least part-time availability during the weekdays between 8am-4pm.
- A strong ability to build rapport to different groups of students of different ages, challenges, and ability levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- TESOL/TESL preferred (we can set you up to earn a TESOL/TEFL certificate)
- Open to learning and expanding your knowledge and skills set.

- **How does being a Supply Teacher / Occasional Teacher (OT) work?**_

Summit has a roster of supply teachers that our team refers to when they need coverage or assistance. Simply let us know your availability and which of our school(s) you can work at. Supply teachers that are available Monday to Friday between our class hours of 8:00 am - 4:00 pm is preferred (i.e. more likely to get calls/working hours).
- **How many hours will I be working?**_

This varies from 0 to 30 hours per week. It may be weeks before you get called in to work, or you may be asked to fill in for a day, or multiple days, or for an LTO (long term occasional) term. Coverage is required in the following cases: (1) when a teacher is absent due to illness (2) when a teacher is going on vacation (3) when a teacher has a meeting or networking event to attend (4) when enrolment increases and an additional teacher is needed.
- **What are the hours?**_

Summit’s business hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
- **How much notice will I be given?**_

Supply teachers are given days or weeks’ notice.
