**Job Description**:
As the General Manager of Timber Ridge Firewood, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of our operations. Your main responsibilities will include managing day-to-day operations, supervising staff, training, ensuring safety and efficiency, vehicle/equipment maintenance oversight, manufacturing equipment oversight, payroll, hiring & firing involvement, company development and delivering outstanding service to our customers.

In addition, you will work closely with the owners of the company to improve company functionality and ensure the business is moving in a positive direction. The general manager is vital in collaborating with the owners to ensure that the business is running smoothly and everything is being kept clean and organized.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee and lead the daily operations of the firewood company, including production, inventory management, and delivery logistics.
- Manage, train, and motivate a team of dedicated employees to ensure they perform their roles effectively and efficiently.
- Monitor and maintain the quality of firewood products to meet company standards and customer expectations.
- Utilize your experience operating equipment to ensure proper and safe use of machinery during the production process.
- Ensure that equipment, materials, and everything else on site is kept tidy and taken care of.
- Ability to delegate and collaborate to make sure all tasks on site are being taken care of.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to manage inventory and maintain a sufficient supply of raw materials and production materials.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, and promote a safe working environment for all staff.
- Interact with customers, handle inquiries, and address any issues or concerns in a professional and customer-centric manner.
- Work closely with the senior management team to develop and implement strategies for business growth and improvement.
- Advocate for development in your own role and for the employees under you to continue upskilling in their role.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 3+ years of management experience in a similar or comparable industry, demonstrating a track record of successful team leadership and performance management.
- Bachelors or masters level education preferred
- Plus: Experience operating equipment commonly used in firewood production or similar
- Some physical labor experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with staff, customers, and suppliers.
- Ability to train, mentor, and oversee staff to ensure a high level of productivity and commitment to quality.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail to manage inventory, schedules, and other operational aspects efficiently.
- Punctual and reliable, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to promoting a positive work culture.
- Familiarity with the firewood industry or related fields would be considered an asset.
- Ability to integrate with technology systems and learn how to use technology to optimize your role.
- Must have reliable transport to and from work.
