ONE KIDS PLACE Children’s Treatment Centre provides rehabilitation and related support services for children and youth (up to the age of 19) and their families living in the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound. All staff will provide service within an interdisciplinary team environment committed to family-centered practice.

**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Position: Therapy Assistant
Location: Huntsville

Job type: Contract, Full Time - 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

***:The Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of assigned therapists to ensure coordinated delivery of rehabilitation services within an interdisciplinary, family-centered environment. Assistants will be responsible for: implementing therapy programs, completing other tasks as assigned by the therapists, providing training to children, youth and their parents, and ensuring documentation is consistent with agency standards.

**JOB DUTIES**:

- Seeks clinical direction within the discipline’s scope of practice from the assigned therapist.
- Assists therapists by carrying out one-to-one or group activities with children/youth. These activities could include: exercise and mobility programs, rehabilitation therapy, daily living activities and programming.
- Provides education and assistance to children/youth/families in the proper and safe utilization of assistive devices and equipment.
- Works in close collaboration with the therapist to identify the child/youth’s progress, ensures continuity of care and facilitates child/youth’s transition.
- Documents client-related activities and workload practices according to Children’s Treatment Centre standards and maintains client confidentiality and privacy.
- Makes recommendations to the therapist who determines the need for other discipline involvement in addressing the needs of the child/youth.
- Participates in the orientation and training of new staff members, placement students and /or volunteers.
- Pursues on-going professional development and growth.
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post-secondary education required. Rehabilitation Assistant Program graduate preferred or post graduate diploma in the health human services sector.
- 2 years related work experience within a pediatric/health care setting with children and youth with special needs an asset
- Working knowledge of community resources and supports within the Districts of Nipissing, Muskoka and Parry Sound
- Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team environment under the guidance and/or direction of assigned therapists
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills/Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Valid Ontario driver’s license, proof of insurance and reliable vehicle
- Computer competency and adaptable in the use of computer software for the purpose of assessments, documentation, programming and communication.
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
- Proof of COVID Vaccinations as required by the sector

**COMPENSATION**:$24.18 - $29.96 hourly hourly (depending on prior experience as per our Collective Agreement).
