Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, the kitchen Supervisor will provide guests of St. Larry’s Pub an outstanding dining experience adhering to high standards of quality and service. The Kitchen Supervisor believes that a positive attitude makes a team succeed and is passionate about the culinary arts. St. Larry’s Pub cooks work hard to keep the restaurant running smoothly and represent the Student Association with excellent hospitality and timeliness.

**Duties**:

- Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of staff who prepare, portion and serve food, and set a high standard for efficient cooking and preparing activities.
- Efficient line cook and displays excellent ability to both participate and motivate the kitchen staff through on and off peak meal service times.
- The cook is responsible for preparing and cooking all menu items with a high standard of quality and efficiency in order to create a positive dining experience to guests.
- Prepares quality food on a timely and accurate basis to guests using proper portioning and presentation.
- Uses preparation times wisely to ensure St. Larry’s Pub is prepared for both on and off peak meal times.
- Avoids cross contamination of foods by ensuring that proper food storage and organization is followed in all kitchen areas.
- Monitors food inventory, records of supplies and equipment, and notifies the Kitchen Manager when products need to be ordered.
- Manage daily operations and ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed by kitchen staff.
- Follow all St. Larry’s Pub policies and procedures to align with operating objectives and ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
- Ensure health and safety regulations are enforced by setting quality and safety controls and train staff in sanitation and safety procedures in accordance with health and safety standards and St. Larry’s Pub policy.
- Supervise assembly and delivery of food to maintain quality and efficiency during regular and peak time operating hours.
- Maintains the cleanliness of St. Larry’s Pub by ensuring proper sanitation and cleaning procedures of the kitchen areas are completed daily in accordance with Health and Safety standards.
- Abides by all St. Larry’s Pub policy and code of conduct.
- May perform other duties as reasonably required by the House or Kitchen Manager.

Skills & Qualifications:

- Minimum 3 years experience with food handling in a fast paced restaurant environment is required.
- Completion of a college or other program related to culinary arts, hospitality or food and beverage service management is required.
- Safe Food Handlers Certificate required.
- Pays precise attention to detail, order, and cleanliness.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts.
- Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources.
- Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
- Ability to connect with students, socialize and communicate to diverse student groups.
- Occasionally may lift heavy objects (50lbs)
