If you have a keen eye for design and a strong understanding of garment construction techniques, we'd love to hear from you
**Responsibilities**:
**Pattern Development**:
- Interpret design sketches and specifications to create garment patterns
- Develop accurate and consistent patterns for various apparel items
- Collaborate with the designer and Art Department to develop new styles
- Conduct fittings, assess fit, record changes, and correct fit and construction issues until samples are approved
- Write specification sheets and sewing guidelines for each sample, ensuring accuracy and clarity
- Ensure all samples produced correspond with the pattern and original sketch
- Evaluate prototypes, resolve fit issues, and implement quality control measures
- Make corrections to styles based on feedback and quality standards
- Perform size grading for each pattern and produce markers for production cutting
- Test patterns by making and fitting sample garments
- Develop technical specifications for garments
- Draw outlines of pattern parts by adapting or copying existing patterns, or by drafting new patterns
- Calculate yields for costing purposes
- Work closely with the Design Team to produce sample garments
- Inspect final products to ensure quality standards are met
**Pattern Digitization and Database**:
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to digitize and refine patterns
- Manage digital pattern libraries and ensure accuracy in digital files
- Maintain and update the digital file library for patterns and specifications
**Quality Control**:
- Conduct quality control checks on patterns to ensure precision and adherence to design specifications
- Make adjustments to patterns based on feedback from production and quality control processes
**Continuous Improvement**:
- Communicate effectively with the production team to ensure a seamless transition from pattern to production
- Propose process improvements to enhance efficiency in pattern development
- Research industry trends and create design concepts
- Stay informed about advancements in pattern-making techniques
**Skills**:
- Diploma or degree in Apparel Pattern Making, Fashion Design, or related field
- Strong understanding of garment construction techniques
- Proficiency in PAD system or Gerber Accumark software
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
- Skilled in fabric identification, especially with stretch fabrics
- Strong attention to detail and precision
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Initiative and proactive approach
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
