**Job Summary**

**Location: On-site, National Gallery of Canada, 380, Sussex Drive, Ottawa

The AV Technician provides support to the Venues and Events Management Team and ensures the highest quality of events delivery in providing audio-visual services.

The primary scope of this position includes installation, operation, and maintenance of audio-visual and lighting components in areas of the Gallery. This role may be called upon to provide technical advice, support, and input into installation projects and/or the upgrading of systems and equipment with an audio-visual component.

Language is BBC

**Requirements**:

- 5 years experience working in the AV industry.
- Advanced knowledge of mixing techniques and equipment of various audio sources.
- Advanced knowledge of video formats and equipment.
- Advanced knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems used in presentations.
- Advanced knowledge of video / computer projection systems.
- Good knowledge of simultaneous interpretation system operation.
- Good knowledge of video editing on various software.
- Knowledge of permanently installed audio systems operation including portable audio systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot all systems as required in the provision of services to internal and external clients.
- Advanced knowledge of PC computer hardware and operating system (Windows).
- Advanced knowledge of Apple computer hardware and operating system (Mac).
- Ability to operate lifts for the purpose of lighting installation and maintenance.

**Condition of Employment**
- Must meet the bilingual requirement to be invited to the interview process.
