**THE ENGAGEMENT & ADVOCACY SPECIALIST (Climate)**

Under the guidance of the Climate Engagement & Advocacy Manager and in close collaboration with the Associate Director, Climate Engagement, you will be a pivotal figure in SHARE’s shareholder engagement program. You will develop and implement corporate engagement initiatives, engaging in negotiations with companies, and leading collaborative engagement efforts.

**Some of your primary responsibilities will include**:

- Leading negotiations of formal and informal agreements with companies to advance shared climate action objectives;
- Collaborating closely with allied investors to develop common agendas and shared priorities for corporate engagement;.
- Contributing to the development of strategy, identifying targets, outcomes, timing, and activities based on program priorities.
- Maintaining ongoing, constructive engagement relationships with company personnel, government and regulatory officials, and other investors.
- Monitoring developments from engagement partners, allied investors, stakeholder groups, and experts in relevant fields, staying abreast of emerging issues and trends.
- Working collaboratively with the Engagement Research team to shape the research program to support new and emerging engagement objectives.

**YOU HAVE THESE QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum three to five years of experience in an advocacy or negotiation role;
- Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent related experience;
- Knowledge of business, investment, and financial markets in Canada and internationally;
- Strong understanding of internationally recognized standards related to climate change and environmental sustainability;
- Strong understanding of at least one of the followi
