**Supervisor, Planning (Production Support - Piping & Mechanical)**:
Supervisor, Planning will be responsible to direct a team of on-site Piping & Mechanical production support team to build, monitor, and help execute detailed cross-trade plans by working closely with Engineering, Baseline and Change Planning, and Operations Management on new construction programs.
**Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at Vancouver Shipyards in North Vancouver, B.C.**
**What you’ll do**
- Will provide leadership to individual contributors in the execution of their job functions including employee mentorship, setting expectations, measuring performance, providing constructive feedback, communicating priorities, administration of company policies, daily time verification, document skill gaps and identify training requirements.
- Support the Piping & Mechanical value stream by proactively detailing, coordinating, and resolving production issues across the value stream.
- Responsible for development, documentation, and enforcement of standards and processes.
- Support the accurate implementation, tracking and collection of data relevant to the new construction projects.
- Complete & implement continuous improvement projects for the production support team
- Develop and maintain a culture of collaboration and communication across the Piping & Mechanical value stream.
- Conduct regular communication meetings with members of the production support team.
**What you’ll bring**
- Minimum 5 years of experience in design, planning or construction of mechanical systems, with 2 years applied in shipbuilding
- Previous experience with enterprise level MRP and ERP systems
- Previous experience with the analysis and output of data
- Knowledge of manufacturing supply chain and procurement process
- In-depth knowledge of planning and production control techniques
- Knowledge of shipbuilding operations is desirable
- Experience using an ERP system in a large manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software suite including Ship Constructor (preferred) and AutoCAD.
- Strong technical skills with capability to read and interpret sophisticated specifications and detailed engineering drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service focus.
- Demonstrated initiative, creativity and integrity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent digital literacy including Microsoft Office based packages such as Word/Excel/PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem tackle.
- Demonstrated effective leadership and influencing skills and practice
- Good judgment and reasoning skills.
