Cavendish Farms is currently seeking an Innovation Research & Development Summer Student to join our team.
We are looking for an Innovation Research & Development Summer Student to work with our Research & Development team at our Culinary Creation Center located at the Culinary Institute of Canada in Charlottetown. The successful student will be interested in learning more about food science and help support our department through ideation sessions, our sensory initiative and process documentation.
**Wage Range**:$19.50 - $25.10 per hour
- Supporting Customer projects at the Pilot Line to gain experience in Project Management
- Supporting our Approved Vendor Ingredient Catalogue (updates and maintenance)
- Sensory Initiative Support - Participation and setup
- Supporting Cooking Instruction Catalogue - Guidance from Culinary Research
- Supporting Documentation for SOPs and Safety Procedures
- Enthusiasm for food science and product development
- Attending a post-secondary education in a related field (science, food science, biology)
- Excellent ability to multi-task
- Solid analytical and data-driven thinking
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Functional time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently as well as strong team player
- Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office suite of tools
- Enthusiastic participant in team discussion and brainstorming
