**Job Description**:
**Accountability**: The Project Coordinator directly reports to the Manager of PL&NE office

Project Coordinator, Steubenville Atlantic Youth Conference a summer employment opportunity that is funded through Nova Scotia Student Summer Incentive Program (SKILL), a program which provides employment opportunities for students. Applicants must be a permanent resident of Nova Scotia or live in Nova Scotia for at least six months prior to the work term.

**Summary**:
The Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth seeks to hire a student to be the lead project coordinator for its annual summer youth conference, Steubenville Atlantic. This conference takes place on the campus of Saint Mary’s University and is aimed at youth in high school looking to learn more about their Roman Catholic faith. Steubenville Atlantic brings together young people from across the Atlantic provinces and has been running since 2007.

The student must be comfortable working in a faith environment and must have a robust understanding of and respect for the practice and teachings of the Catholic Church. The student need not be a practicing Catholic.

**Main duties and Responsibilities**:
(main functions but not limited to the following)
- Planning, organizing and implementing all aspect of the evet in collaboration with the event team (volunteers) and the team in the Office of Pastoral Life and New Evangelization.
- Leading the event team, maintaining the event budget, coordinating with conference venue and suppliers, promoting the event to youth throughout Atlantic Canada, and overall problem solving. Strong communications skills, oral, written, and via social asset to this role.
- Occasionally providing support to other programs and initiatives overseen by the Office of Pastoral Life and New Evangelization.

**Qualifications**:

- Demonstrated strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize and work well in a multi-task environment.
- Demonstrated above average written and oral communications skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality, diplomacy and hospitality
- Demonstrated financial management skills and experience with accounting software

**Note**:

**Responsible Ministry**:
The person who fills this position is required to consent to a Police Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and to sign an agreement to abide by the Responsible Ministry protocols of the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth.
