We are seeking an innovative Art Director to create and direct the agency’s graphic design executions, from logos, brand look and feel layouts, brand architecture, digital ads, website development and TV/video storyboard creation to a full suite of marketing materials, such as impact reports, brochures, event graphics and more. This “ideation master” will deliver bold, strategic and high-impact assets for our clients by leading and collaborating with our graphic design and TV/video creative and production teams. The Art Director must also work cross-functionally with account services, PR, social/content and digital media teams to ensure client satisfaction and best-in-class results.

This is a hands-on role where the Art Director is a continuous practitioner. At times, the Art Director will lead and oversee the creative process through the work of others. At other times, the Art Director will personally develop concepts, write copy and collaborate with the TV/video production team to ensure seamless brand and campaign continuity.

**Key Considerations**

We are looking for a leader who will:

- Translate clients’ brand strategy and marketing goals into creative solutions and present with confidence and passion
- Inspire our creative team and embrace our eclectic mix of clients, including regional and national brands across a range of industries
- Share a vision for how to best integrate AI into the creative process
- Provide an outstanding online portfolio showcasing work personally created and directed within the past 2 to 3 years. Submissions must reflect a diverse range of marketing channels

**Role Responsibilities**
- Strong idea generation and visual thinking, a refined design sensibility and the ability to collaborate across disciplines
- Drive award-winning creative solutions by pushing the creative boundaries for breakthrough work while keeping on-brand and on-brief
- Generate creative ideas from concept to execution across a variety of mediums
- Play a pivotal role in driving creative strategies, optimizing processes and ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Manage throughput for each creative project, ensuring all deliverables are on time, within budget and adhere to high-quality creative standards of all stakeholders
- Supervise a high-functioning creative team, including graphic designers and external, freelance contractors (writers, graphic designers, etc.) and vendors
- Serve as the creative group’s mentor, helping to coach and guide the team in the improvement of their work and overall strategic approach
- Identify individual and team skill gaps, developmental areas and opportunities (e.g., training, special assignments, projects, etc.) to advance individual and team capabilities
- Research, monitor and analyze industry marketing and creative trends, technologies and best practices
- Participate in personal growth opportunities (conferences, association membership, industry education, etc.) and bring that learning back to the creative team

**Required Qualifications**

The Art Director brings an exceptional thirst for innovative creative solutions, deep-rooted curiosity, tenacity, a strong marketing and advertising skillset and a passion for driving successful client outcomes. Other required qualifications include:

- 8 to 10+ years of creative leadership experience within top-tier brand and/or advertising agency organizations creating and supervising campaign concept development, copywriting, graphic design and familiarity with TV/video creative and production
- 6+ years of demonstrated people management experience coaching and developing team members
- A gift for storytelling, knowing when and where to provide a strategic perspective and ability to sell unique, creative solutions to clients
- An ability and confidence to pitch new business, present concepts and sell game-changing ideas to clients and stakeholders
- Thriving in a fast-paced environment with shifting prioriti
