We’re searching for a talented professional to join our team as a **Technician, Product Development**. In this role, you will focus on the development of novel cannabis vape and concentrate products for our Consumer and Medical channels in Canada and around the world. You will report into the Senior Director, Product Development and collaborate with the team to transform our ideas into world-class formulas. Sound exciting? Here is a little more
**As the Technician, Product Development you will **
- Develop novel formulations of various cannabis product formats, with a specific focus on vapes and concentrates (dabbable extracts)
- Identify and source ingredients to bring product concepts to life at a pilot scale in collaboration with Aurora’s Procurement group
- Perform qualitative analysis of product samples, process and analyze data and present and discuss results in team meetings
- Draft test procedures and prepare documentation for R&D and scale-up trials that are compliant and align with the needs of Operations and Quality Assurance teams
- Collaborate with Category team and stakeholders to develop and write SOPs and other documentation required to launch and manufacture new products
- Report on projects as needed by the Product Development team and other parts of the business
- Contribute towards general lab operations such as coordinating required maintenance, calibration, and qualification of instruments
**As an experienced professional, you will have **
- A strong passion for the cannabis industry and products **_(this will precede all other requirements) _**:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in cannabis (medical or recreational), pharma industries or a related field
- Proficiency with MS Office Products (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Knowledge and expertise in one or more extraction technologies, ideally with a combination of butane, ethanol, solventless and other extraction platforms **_(we would also welcome an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)_**
**It would be an asset if you have **
- Expertise utilizing analytical chemistry instrumentation (HPLC-UV, LC-MS and LC-MS/MS, and GC-MS) techniques
- Practical experience in analytical method development and validation for small molecules, particularly in the context of phytochemistry, natural products chemistry, or environmental toxicology
- Knowledge of regulations or experience working in a regulated industry
- You’re a critical thinker who can think outside the box and transform ideas into innovative product lines
- You have strong communication skills and can convey complex information in engaging formats for various audiences
- You’re a self-motivated individual who thrives when working in a team dynamic, managing multiple projects, and getting things done
- You have a scientific mindset that is driven by creativity and can cultivate excellence in all that you do
