Junior Estimator

Franklin Terrazzo Company Inc. is seeking an Estimator to join our team in Chatham-Kent, ON. This position will be responsible for estimating jobs, including the preparation of estimates, quotes, and bid packages.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Maintain estimate log to meet due dates.
- Download, interpret and analyze tender documents, plans, drawings and specifications.
- Filter out jobs that don’t match our field of work.
- Calculate SF or LF amounts for take-offs.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
- Assist with RFP’s and General Contract tender submissions when necessary.
- Assist with Pre-qualification submissions, RFQ’s and RFI’s as required.
- Attending site meetings when required.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines.
- Strong computer skills; able to convert documents into different formats.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites.
- Experience with AutoCAD. (bonus)
- Ability to read architectural floor plans. (bonus)

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Chatham-Kent, ON N7M 5J4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (required)

**Experience**:

- construction estimating: 1 year (preferred)
