**Railway Professional Machine Operator**
**Location**: Edmonton, Alberta **Compensation**: $35 - $40 per hour
As a Railway Professional Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various on-track heavy equipment to support track maintenance, repair, and construction activities. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic outdoor environment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Operate a variety of heavy machinery, including but not limited to, tampers, ballast regulators, spike pullers/drivers, and other railway-specific equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on all assigned equipment to ensure safe and optimal performance.
- Adhere to all railway rules and regulations, including the Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR), to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct track maintenance activities such as replacing rails, ties, and other track components.
- Work collaboratively with a team to complete projects efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment usage.
**Qualifications and Requirements**:
- **Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Edmonton, Alberta.**:
- Proven **experience** as a railway specific heavy equipment operator.
- Must be able to hold and maintain a valid Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) certificate.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal record check and a drug and alcohol screening.
- Strong understanding of and commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Excellent physical condition with the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
