Truck Driver

**Where does the **_**Truck Driver**_ **fit in?**

As the Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting and recording the movement of parts, supplies, materials, equipment and stock to and from establishments. You will maintain the company’s vehicle that will be assigned to you, as well as working closely with our shipping/receiving team in order to plan routes and track deliveries effectively. You will have a valid truck driver’s license and drivers abstract ensure timely and accurate customer shipments according to 5S and FIFO requirements and standards.

**What you can expect as our next **_**Truck Driver**_**:

- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
- Ensure timely and accurate customer shipments
- Inspect goods and ensure they are safely loaded and secured
- Transport finished goods and raw materials over land, to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
- Document and log work / rest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel / toll receipts
- Adhere to applicable traffic laws for the type of vehicle they operate and location they are in
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods)
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Report defects, accidents, or violations
- Refuel and clean vehicle as required
- Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions
- Collect and verify delivery instructions to ensure accuracy
- Maintains lot tractability records / forms as required
- Determine method of shipment and prepare bills, invoices and other shipping documents
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods from trucks, etc.
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages, and reject damaged goods
- Maintains cleanliness, organization of the warehouse and finished goods area
- Performs all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health and safety rules and regulations
- Ensures compliance to IATF-16949 systems and procedures
- Ensure compliance / enforcement of Axiom Group plant standards
- Perform additional tasks as assigned

**Do you have what is takes to be our next **_**Truck Driver**_**?**
- Valid truck license (DZ License)
- Must provide a Driver’s abstract
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- No recent moving or driving violations
- Strong attention to detail for assessing incoming and outgoing shipments
- Good verbal and written communication skills, able to read and write in English
- Must have basic computer and calculator proficiency
- Must be punctual, reliable and have a good work ethic
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and good manufacturing practices
