Fresh Air Cinema Inc. “The Outdoor Movie Company” is currently hiring for the summer season. At Fresh Air Cinema we are committed to providing an inclusive, diverse, safe, and exciting work environment for our employees. As our name suggests we provide exciting outdoor movie experiences across Canada. Our company is heading into our 16th year of business, and we have great seasonal summer opportunities that provide fun and exciting experiences helping to create outdoor movie events. We are looking for hard-working, good natured individuals to join our team for the 2022 season. This position is based in South Surrey, but the events will take you all over the province.

Hours of Work:
These are seasonal Full-Time positions based out of our head office & shop in Langley, but our movie night events happen throughout the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and even the Interior of British Columbia, practically every night through July and August. You should be available to work/travel any days and evenings.
- Mostly evenings and weekends, but not limited to.
- 8 - 12 hrs/day, approx 40+ hours/week
- Paid training starts in June and the season runs seven days a week through to the end of August, with select shifts continuing into September and October weekends and occasional weekdays for those who wish to stay on into the Fall.

Job Duties:
You will be personally responsible for ensuring that audio-visual and event setup is properly completed to client specifications, and in an efficient, timely manner in order to deliver the great service Fresh Air Cinema is known for.

The job(s) involve travelling, driving and physical labour. A typical day is:

- to meet your team at the shop in Langley
- drive our company truck & trailer to the outdoor event location (Vancouver, Lower Mainland, Interior, Vancouver Island)
- setup the screen and client's show in the afternoon
- operate the sound and projection equipment - you'll be putting on the show
- strike event the same evening, and return to shop

Additional job duties:

- Set up, tear down, operate and maintain AV equipment at events throughout the province.
- Physical labour with some light to heavy lifting.
- Directing and guiding your crew.
- Problem solving and analytical troubleshooting.
- Fill Job Reports
- Driving and travelling throughout the province.
- Interacting with clients and the public. Maintaining and developing new and old client relationships.
- Education, knowledge, and/or experience in A/V. Working with projectors and sound systems. Proven understanding how to operate and maintain AV equipment.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must provide a driver's abstract/history with a fairly clean record and low points.
- Ability to get to and from the office/shop in Langley (location is not transit accessible)
- Work efficiently without supervision, as a part of a small team, and individually.

Skills Required:

- Good driving habits. Confident to drive large trucks and tow a cargo trailer.
- Able to work independently and solve problems. Proven ability and experience to manage and guide employees. Strong work ethic. Responsible. Organized. Reliable. A good attitude that shows professional and positive behaviour. Get along and work well with others. Sociable.
- Proficient on computers.
- Must own/have consistent access to a vehicle.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

WAGE:
Approximately $18 - $25 / hour based on knowledge and experience.
