**CIVIL CONSTRUCTION HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR**

The Heavy Equipment Operator for Strohmaier Excavating (2019) Ltd. is responsible for operating all equipment in a safe, professional, and efficient manner. The Heavy Equipment Operator must be a self-driven and motivated team player with an aptitude to exercise good judgement and is able to work alone in a safe and productive manner. This position requires a strong understanding of industry standard best practices in safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

- Efficient excavation operations related to civic construction including storm, water, sanitary, and underground utilities
- Perform daily pre-operational and post-operational inspections
- Other general labour and construction related duties may be required
- Work as part of a team to complete projects in a safe, responsible, and timely manner
- Adhere to all safety and environmental standards, regulations, and company policies

Requirements and Qualifications
- 5+ years proven experience operating heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, and backhoes in a civil construction environment
- Valid BC Driver’s license
- Good working knowledge and understanding of safe work practices pertaining to municipal and utility-based construction
- Must be able to perform daily safety and maintenance checks
- Must have strong time management skills and problem-solving abilities
- Must be a self-motivated individual with the ability to work alone as well as work well with others
- Must be willing and able to work in adverse weather conditions
- Safety and First Aid certification an asset
