**POSITION**: Full Time Regional Coordinator; Equitable Access to Oncology Treatment
**HOURS OF WORK**: 7.5 Hour Shifts MONDAY TO FRIDAY WITH A FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE TO RESPOND TO PATIENTS AS NEEDED
**JOB SUMMARY**
Under the leadership of the Director of the Waterloo Wellington Regional Cancer Program (WWRCP) and the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre (GRRCC), the coordinator is responsible to ensure access to cancer treatment is equitable. The coordinator is a financial steward of donations made to the Grand River Hospital (GRH) Foundation for use by oncology patients.
The coordinator will develop, create, implement and maintain access to treatment for all cancer patients of GRRCC by removing barriers such as transportation, lodging, and nutrition assistance etc. The coordinator will collaboratively c reate, develop, implement and maintain forms and tracking systems so support equitable access to cancer treatment. Coordinates with GRRCC leadership, management and Patient and Family Advisors (PFAs) to identify needs, create a high level project plan and implement work to support reducing access to cancer treatments
- Leads the planning and implementation of initiatives to support equitable access to cancer treatments
- Embraces and utilizes recognized Quality Improvement approaches for the planning, implementation and monitoring and measuring. Collaborates with the management in policy and/or practice planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Develop and implement initiatives that sill support and enhance the patient experience and overall success of the having the patient attend treatment.
- Communicates and updates program director and managers regularly of program initiatives and project progress.
- Activities of the position should support ongoing growth of GRRCC
- Collaborates with the management team to assist other initiatives when necessary
- Attends and participates in meetings. Prepares all support, patient education and presentation materials as necessary.
- Works closely with the GRH Foundation staff to advocate for regional cancer patients experiencing barriers (e.g. financial, mental health, physical barrier) preventing access to cancer treatment
- Plan, design, organize, prepare, maintain and deliver patient materials supporting equitable access to care
- Expand the capacity of the program/resources as it relates to equity and inclusiveness to access of care, by serving as a resource
- Functions as a change agent and offers support, information and access to material and resources for cancer patients ensuring equitable and inclusive access to oncology treatment in an effective and effective manner
- Works directly with the GRH Foundation to identify different funds that are available to support this important work and coordinates the invoicing and payment from the foundation to GRRCC.
- Works directly with the finance department at GRH to coordinate contracts, billing and payment. Ensures that a quality check of invoices is in place prior to paying invoices for services (e.g. hotels, taxies) etc.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- **Bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years of work experience in oncology administration, or 5+ years of relevant work experience in oncology administration, or 10+ years in health care administration**:
