Gemcast Inc. is an industrial manufacturer in Kitchener, Ontario. We currently have one opening for Concrete Finisher in the Special Pre-Cast Department. This position is full-time on the day shift. Benefits are available after 3 months and include Dental, Drug, Vision, and Life Insurance.

The shift hours are Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:30pm, Friday 7:30am to 3:30pm. There are two 15-minute breaks and a 45-minute lunch. Overtime is paid daily for any additional time worked. Saturdays, Sundays and Statutory Holidays are automatic overtime for any hours worked.

The hourly wage is open to negotiation and will depend upon experience and skill set.

**Job Duties**

Team member will be trained on the workings of our Special Pre-Cast Department.

This position will involve mixing and pouring of high temperature refractory concretes. Work environment requires the ability to lift and place 25kg (55lb) bags, wearing a respirator and standing for extended periods.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Operating power tools, vibration tools and hand grinder.
- Operating a forklift.
- Pouring high temperature concrete to create specified shapes for customers.
- Responsible for the preparation, set-up and clean-up of pre-cast equipment for production requirements.
- Read and interpret drawings from the Engineering department.
- Picking and verifying customer orders for delivery.
- Practice safety precautions and adhering to Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Study the existing processes and recommend possible modificatons.
- Communicate and work with Production Scheduling to achieve daily targets, minimize scrap and maximize material usage.
- Supporting yield improvement projects.
- Completing all logs, reports and other data as defined by the supervisor/trainer.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work station.
- Assisting other departments as needed.

**Essential Skills & Qualifications**:

- 1-3 years of Pre-Cast, Concrete, Refractory and/or Masonry experience is an asset.
- Read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
- Mathematical proficiency.
- Exceptional hand-eye coordination.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong organization skills.
- Solid analytical and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Team player that is able to work well with all departments
