**Project Supervisor (Poultry)**

**Term**:Permanent

**Employment Type**: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, Day

*Occasional weekends.

**Location**: Onsite

**Reports to**: Project Manager (Poultry)

**Salary**: $65,000 to $70,000

**Bonus**: Eligible

As _**Project Supervisor**_, you will oversee and work alongside our crew on a variety of farm improvement projects. Projects may include assembling and installing farm equipment in new barns, airless barn painting, and general barn maintenance. You will be part of our farm team, where we pride ourselves on our friendly, relaxed, and collaborative work culture. This role will suit individuals who like to be active instead of desk-bound, who like variety in their tasks where no two days are the same, and who believe in always learning and striving for continuous improvement.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Supervise a project crew, including managing day-to-day activities and scheduling
- Perform equipment installation and maintenance activities
- Organize equipment and building materials for projects
- Operate various tools and equipment (e.g., hand and power tools, farm tractor, skid steer)
- Ensure compliance with building codes
- Follow our farm protocols and programs (workplace safety, security, animal welfare, food safety, on-farm biosecurity) and conduct appropriate employee training

**Note**: The project supervisor is based out of Lyn, Ontario, with some travel to our farms in Quebec, Western Ontario, and Manitoba for up to two weeks at a time.

**Work Environment**:

- Physical activity in a farm environment (both inside and outside of barns) such as pushing and pulling, crouching, bending, reaching, as well as some climbing and working at heights
- Work may be required in empty barns and occasionally in barns housed with poultry; especially when housed, barns can be noisy, odorous, hot, humid, and dusty

**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES**:

- Demonstrates a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn new skills
- Able to lead and work as part of a team
- Knowledgeable in one of these areas: Metal fabrication/welding, construction techniques, carpentry, general construction, equipment maintenance
- Experience operating tools and equipment
- Able to perform physical tasks that require strength, coordination, dexterity, and repetitive lifting of objects
- Communication skills - written and oral
- Comfortable around farm animals. Able to follow animal welfare standards
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Able to show up to work on time and ready to work. Willing to work until the task is complete, which may occasionally require longer hours
- Able to travel for up to 2 weeks at a time to our farm locations in Quebec, Western Ontario, and Manitoba
- English essential. French is an asset.
- Some computer literacy is an asset

**Work Experience and Education Requirements**
- College degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience (e.g., 5 years work experience in a trade)
- Previous work experience (can include part time or summer employment during high school and college)
- Management/supervisor experience is an asset
- Experience with agriculture or farm animals is considered an asset
