**Family Engagement Project Consultant**

York Hills is an accredited Children’s Mental Health agency located in York Region we provide counselling to children/youth up the age of 18, and their families through a variety of programs. We address a range of mental health issues, including emotional, behavioural and/or psychiatric symptoms that may be impacting functioning at home, school, socially or in the community. Intervention strategies are determined following a thorough intake and assessment.

**Here is what you will need**:

- Lived experience as a caregiver or family member of a child/youth who has struggled with mental health and accessed Children’s Mental Health Services.
- Understanding of family engagement best practices
- Experience supporting family engagement efforts in non-profit organization is an asset
- Demonstrated strong critical thinking skills at various organizational levels
- Demonstrated a strong commitment to teamwork and openness, with the ability to work independently
- Post-Secondary qualifications is an asset
- Demonstrated excellent time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge and sensitivity to the diversity in the organizations, within families, and the community
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge and ability to use software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, etc.
- Experience working or volunteering in non-profit organization is an asset

- Co-develop York Hill’s Family Engagement framework and strategy for implementation
- Develop a working knowledge of The Knowledge Institute on Children and Youth Mental Health and Addictions Quality Standards of Family Engagement
