**Metal Fabricator**

Red Seal Journeyman ticket is not necessary for this role. No week is the same and you must be able to work well with our small shop/warehouse team and be egoless about helping out in the warehouse and forklift as needed.

Stormtec is a specialty water management company that makes the lives of their customers easier by taking on their water management challenges. When we do it right, no one notices us doing our work - not our customers, not the communities we work in, not the fish in the local streams. Except that our customers realize we don’t have the ongoing headache of water management. We provide water management solutions for sediment control, contaminated water treatment, dewatering and bypass solutions in the construction industry.

We’ve doubled in size over the last three years and expects to double again. We have a young, progressive team of 70 staff, led by an ambitious President & CEO who is leading the company through unprecedented but sustainable growth.

People who succeed at this job will:

- Working with our instrument tech and electrician, will figure out and build metal components to effectively mount and set up custom equipment inside our job boxes.
- Smart enough to figure out a one-off solution; effective and efficient at figuring out how to build a small batch run of them if needed.
- Be able to visualize solutions and dimensions, as most of the work will not come to you via blueprints.
- Work with skids and discharge plates.
- Work with channel iron, angel iron, plate and pipe.
- Be able to get out into the field on construction sites as needed (10%)
- Be our in-house fabrication expert
- As part of the service and warehouse team, be egoless about helping on the warehouse floor when needed.

Skills and Related Experience
- Be able to stick weld and MIG weld.
- Ideally have flame cutting and plasma cutting skill
- Experience with overhead cranes
- Good communication skills, can work well with others
- Can problem solve and research technical issues by reading manuals, internet research, talking to vendors, etc.
- Minimum of 2 years related metal fabrication experience
- Can read and build to blue prints.
- Detail-oriented, organized.
- Efficient with time

**OTHER STUFF**

There’s no doubt that you’ll face some challenges; but you will be up for it because of your passion and skill in fabricating. Most of the time you’ll be working in our shop/warehouse.

The workweek is Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 40 hours per week.

At Stormtec, any offer of employment is dependent on reference checks with direct managers, criminal record check, drug testing including THC, and good driving record. Canadian work authorization is required.
