Thrive Child Development Centre/Centre de développement de l’enfant, located throughout the Algoma district, with our head office in Sault Ste. Marie, is proud to offer an inclusive, educational, and developmentally appropriate Entry to School Program. This program is a service offering that supports families with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who are between the ages of 3 to 5 entering school for the first time. It is a six-month, group-based, skill-building program focused on helping children develop school-readiness skills in a classroom setting. The classroom will be operated by a multi-disciplinary team.
We have an immediate opening for a Classroom Facilitator Lead (full-time 14-month contract - possible of extension) to work as part of a team, assist in the day-to-day operations, and share responsibility for the children enrolled. Within this role, you will oversee the OAP’s Entry to School Program, in partnership with another Classroom Facilitator Lead. You will be responsible for skill building services, curriculum development, implement appropriate learning activities and strategies, support individual support plans, participating in singing, storytelling, acting, modelling play skills and engaging in play with children, while maintaining a safe, routine based and organized environment.

**What we require from you**:
- Undergraduate degree or diploma from a recognized university or college in Child Studies or Early Childhood Education
- Member in good standing of the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Working knowledge of the Childcare & Early Years Act in addition to _Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years:_ How Does Learning Happen? _
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with children (0-6) with developmental support needs in an early learning environment (ex: Kindergarten Classroom, Licensed Childcare Setting, EarlyON Setting, etc.)
- Experience working with children with ASD is required
- First Aid and C.P.R. Certification
- Provide acceptable Vulnerable Sector Screening, and proof of being fully vaccinated for Covid-19
**What we need from you**:
- Experience working with standardized screening tools, assessment measures, and / or inventories of development
- Experience planning and implementing developmentally appropriate programming while including modifications as needed based on consulting therapists (ex: communication tools, equipment, sensory based learning opportunities)
- Demonstrates ability to collaborate with management, staff, clients/families and community partners
- Regarded with trust and respect through effective relationships with peers, other employees, management, families and other organizations
- Demonstrated excellent communication (both oral and written) and listening skills
- Ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experiences, and styles
- Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate activities and experiences to meet individual and group needs of all children
- Ability to manage children with challenging behaviors and communicate effectively with parents in a positive way
- Proven understanding of, and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Possesses excellent knowledge of relevant standards, legislation and guidelines for professional and ethical conducts of practice
- Proficiency in both written and verbal French Language skills is considered an asset
