Master Data Analyst

**Position Summary**

Under the supervision of the Cost Accountant, the Master Data Analyst will join a cross-functional Business Systems team with a focus on inventory management from preparing reports and analyzing data to ensuring adherence to inventory processes. This person will benefit from working with a collaborative team of professionals who take pride in thinking outside the box, providing best in class solutions and a large focus on elevating one others success. This position is responsible for the setup and maintenance of inventory parts in IFS with accurate cost information for both raw materials (weighted average cost) or Finished Good items (standard costs) and the reconciliation of standard costs to actuals costs. He/she will also manage key operational data such as inventory on hand, purchases, manufacturing transactions, etc. The incumbent is the finance business partner to tank manufacturing plants & Operational support departments (ex: Procurement, Engineering, Sales) for all things related to inventory. This position will also be the gate-keeper for all Project tracking including Fixed Assets, Field service, R&D, Internal engineering.

**INVENTORY MANAGEMENT**:

- Work closely with Cost Accountant/Engineering to create and maintain Master Inventory Parts list
- Create and maintain non-inventory Purchase Parts in collaboration with Procurement
- Maintain Supplier for Purchase Parts for intercompany transfers
- Record and monitor inventory transactions (scrap, issue or receiving adjustments, cost corrections)
- Monitor and reconcile inter-site/inter-company movement of goods (Distribution Orders)
- Point person for Water OEM inventory transactions (PO receiving, support shipments, etc.)
- Coordinate monthly plant inventory count process and investigate variances
- Perform month-end closing activities related to inventory and ensure accuracy of inventory valuation
- Prepare monthly journal entries as needed
- Work with plant managers to identify and report obsolete inventory as needed
- Support Cost Accountant with reconciling all balance sheet GLs related to inventory
- Support cost accountant with Internal cost audits
- Standard Costing Support: Yearly calculation of Material, Labor & overhead rates

**ASSET MANAGEMENT**:

- Create Fixed Asset projects
- Assist in the fixed asset cycle, including Asset in progress reconciliation, depreciation calculation and providing transaction support
- Preparing the monthly Fixed Asset Additions report
- Support Fixed Asset Validation

**PROJECT ACCOUNTING SUPPORT - FIELD SERVICE / R&D / ENGINEERING**:

- Project Gatekeeper for all Field Service and R&D projects (Creating project, providing transaction support)
- Billable Project Field invoicing
- Field projects in progress account reconciliation including reclass to COGS
- Prepare monthly Projects reports: Field/Warranty report and R&D Report

**DATA ANALYSIS AND REPORTING**:

- Analyze standard costs to actual production costs (shop order variances)
- Support Cost accountant with Inventory balance analysis (Balances vs prior Qtr/Year, aging data, Inventory turns analysis)
- Support Month end Corporate reports (BSR, Consolidation inputs re: Inventory, assets)
- Support Sales and Cost Accountant with list price and costing exercises

**OTHER DUTIES**:

- Support the business to ensure division and corporate yearly targets are met.
- Support Finance department with Quarterly/Yearly External Audit requirements as they relate to Inventory
- Participate in continuing professional development by attending workshops, seminars, and conferences to obtain and maintain knowledge and skills related to the work performed
- Will play a role in supporting any future ERP integrations and implementations
- Other ad-hoc projects and duties as assigned
