**The Role**:
Are you an _International Medical Graduate_ with a background in Cardiology, excellent communication skills and clinic medical administration experience?
KMH Cardiology Centres Inc. is recruiting for a full-time Physician Assistant role for our busy practises in Markham _and_ North York.
**The Accountabilities**:
The Physician Assistant works in a collaborative practice model in a fast paced cardiology practise to provide quality care, monitoring and assessment to patients. This role directly supports the Cardiologist with ensuring Intake, Patient History and Notes/Documentation is completed and communicated accurately and efficiently. The three core functions of the role are below:
**Patient Intake and Documentation**:
- Conduct patient interviews and obtain patient’s medical history
- Update patient history and pertinent health information in chart
- Review medication history
- Organize chart with all relevant documents for cardiologist review
- Coordinate services for patients when needed
- Follow-up on test results
**Physician Support**:
- Organize and provide required pre and post patient documentation to the cardiologist for review
- Review and prep chart including previous history to summarize for cardiologist
- Assist cardiologist in ordering diagnostic tests
- Facilitate workflow of the clinic and provide assistance to Cardiologist with patient and operational issues
- Help support the care and monitoring of patients
- Provide required information to internal front office and back office teams to ensure effective communication resulting in smooth and uninterrupted workflow (example: day sheets, Diagnostic codes, referral information, supplies etc.)
- Patient education as recommended by cardiologist
**Medical Administration**:
- Maintain and update patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) system
- Comply with KMH and healthcare policies related to patient care and privacy
- Document patient appointments
- Coordinate with KMH medical administration and clinical teams to facilitate diagnostic tests and referrals
- Perform administration or operational tasks to improve productivity and clinic workflow
- Collaborate with internal teams on logistics to ensure supplies are replenished and maintained for clinic
**The Requirements**:
- Internal medical graduate
- Prior experience in cardiology and relevant medical education
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular disease management
- Experience working in a clinic setting
- Proficiency in Medical Terminology in Cardiology and related diagnostic imaging
- Pharsi language skills are an asset
- Scribe experience is an asset
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone and in writing/electronically
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and responsibly in an interdisciplinary team environment
- Demonstrated initiative and judgment appropriateness for the position
- Technology skills including Microsoft Office and EMR
- Ability to accept assigned or delegated functions
- Excellent interpersonal skills, self-direction, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- The ability to prioritize work in an efficient and organized manner is essential
- The ability to remain focused, flexible, and prioritize tasks in a busy clinic flow
- The ability to provide coverage at KMH Markham and KMH North York
- BLS
- ACLS is an asset
We are a progressive organization with a team passionate about healthcare. Our team is comprised of clinical, clinical support and business roles with an entrepreneurial approach.
This role provides coverage at two clinics and has extensive in-person patient interaction. This is a full-time position that is scheduled between Monday-Friday from **8.00 am-4.30/5.00 pm. **Saturday’s are required on rotation with the team. The role reports to the team lead/manager medical administration.
