Dietary Aide/cook

Braemar Retirement Centre (MacGowan Nursing Home) is an accredited 69 bed licensed Long Term Care facility located in Wingham, Ontario. Responsible to the Nutrition Manager, the Dietary Aide is responsible for the provision of direct resident care in accordance with all organizational and legislative policies and procedures and expected professional conduct. In collaboration with the resident care team, the Dietary Aide ensures adherence to quality resident-focused dining and actively participates in continuous quality improvement activities. *Responsible for the finished quality of all products.
- Responsible and accountable to all aspects of food safety, departmental procedures regarding sanitation and food preparation.
- Performs cleaning, dishwashing and setting up dining room, accountable for microbial tests conducted on servery, dining room equipment or surface areas.
- Transports food wagons and dish wagons to and from servery. Picks up supplies and products from production, checks quality, rotates stock on hand, and discards outdated products.
- Provides required documentation for all audits, food usage sheets, and ensures that any relevant information regarding the residents or the servery operation is passed on in writing via the communication book to the appropriate person.
- Completion of Food Service Worker program at an established college as per the requirements of the Long-Term Care Homes Act and Regulations.
- Additional training in the following areas would be an asset: Permanent, Part-time 03 per hour 8 hour shift
