The Role**:Industrial Painter**

Location: Oakville, Ontario

Position Type: Permanent, Full-time

Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:30AM - 3:00PM, with occasional overtime

**Primary Responsibilities**:
The position will involve the following tasks:

- Responsible for maintaining the spray booth and mixing booth;
- Basic understanding of paint equipment and spray-booth operation;
- Spray painting of frames and components required in the manufacture of skids;
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, scraping and priming surfaces;
- Sandblast parts in cabinet type table blast;
- Mix and match paints to create the desired colour;
- Manage working with several colours of paint and tracking which project the parts belong to;
- Operate a variety of industrial painting equipment such as spray guns, rollers, airless sprays and other painting tools;
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times;
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines;
- Comply with all health and safety regulations;
- Clean and maintain painting and coating equipment, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment;
- Ensure the quality of the finished product meets the required standards;
- Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used.
- Assist with Mechanical duties when required.

**Required Skills/Experience**:

- Minimum of two years’ experience in industrial painting;
- Knowledge of general paint preparation;
- Ability to read specifications, blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures;
- Pushing, pulling, reaching to the full extension of the arms, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, handling and grasping, twisting/turning, torso rotation, lifting/carrying;
- Required to safely lift and move up to 50 lbs;
- Safely work from heights using aerial platform, scaffolding, and ladders;
- Ability and willingness to wear personal protective equipment, for example, safety eye wear, gloves, ear plugs, hard hat, safety shoes, and respirator (occasional use of a supplied air respirator would require the painter to be clean shaven/no facial hair);
- Must be proficient at troubleshooting most common, recurring problems on painting equipment without assistance;
- Works well under pressure, manages priorities efficiently;
- Ability to effectively coordinate and communicate with all departments.
