Maintenance Technician

We're growing Urban Quarry is currently seeking a full-time **Maintenance Technician Monday to Friday for the evening shift **to develop and implement a Preventive Maintenance Plan and Schedule.

TRAINING IS DURING THE DAY FROM 6:30-2:30PM FOR AT LEAST 1 MONTH.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
- Develop a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Plan
- Develop and implement a Preventative Maintenance Schedule
- Develop and plan an annual Maintenance Shutdown Plan
- Develop and implement a basic set-up and maintenance checklist for all machine operators
- Provide training to all machine operators to undertake the set-up and maintenance checklist safely and effectively prior to and after using all machines
- Assist any specialized maintenance technicians or contractors should external services be required
- Ensure all machines respect safety standard and implement additional safeguards as needed
- Operate machinery as needed
- Be on call for major troubleshooting outside of agreed upon work hours
- Evaluate the parts and supplies requirements and issue the procurement request according to the planning
- Improve maintenance practices and procedures along with maintaining a comprehensive database on the machines, parts, suppliers and time allotted
- Search and procure to the best possible price tools and materials required for maintenance work
- Review the inventory levels to ensure fast response on the shop floor
- Work alongside the maintenance technician to ensure all issues are mitigated and addressed quickly to reduce production delays
- Work closely with the management team to constantly improve machine availability and overall productivity
- Collaborate to improve internal procedure
- Maintain a high level of efficiency in communication with crew, management team or any other partners
- Follow indicators and search for sector improvements
- Prepare and present reports including machine lifecycle and maintenance updates
- Contribute to the respect of timelines
- Complete any other tasks as requested by the management team
- Work, train, and assist at the production facility when required
- Always maintain Health and Safety while at work
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- High school or technical degree in maintenance, mechanic, millwright work. Sufficient experience may be evaluated as an equivalent.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a leadership role
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Millwright in the production or transformation industry
- Previous experience developing and implementing various maintenance plans
- Experience with procurement and negotiating with suppliers
- Must be organized, motivated, enjoy providing training and working as a team
- Experience enforcing health and safety regulations - Encompass a positive attitude and solid work ethic - Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy - Work with a team and make sound decisions - High level of responsibility and reliability. - Bilingual (Fluent in English and French) Desirable

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Lifting and manipulation of objects of 100 lbs + with assistance
- Wet and noisy environment
- Use of personal protection equipment is required (e.g., hard-hat, safety boots, safety glasses.)
- The Operators may be exposed to hazards associated with the industry
- Knowledge of First Aid and CPR preferred
