Pt Cook/dietary Aide

The cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals to our residents as determined by the day’s menu.

Other responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Safe storage and handling of food.
- Receiving food supplies
- Working with regular and therapeutic menus
- Working with production sheets
- Able to follow established policies, procedures and standards.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

At least one of the following:

- Chef training or culinary management certificate or diploma
- Cook's certificate or diploma
- Successful completion and/or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act required. If enrolled, must complete program within three (3) years of hire date.
- Safe Food Handlers Certificate
- Previous dietary experience preferred in LTC Home.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to read and write English as well as to understand simple verbal and written instructions in English.
- Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
- Must be able to do moderate to heavy lifting
- Applicant must be available for call in shifts.
- Must be Covid vaccinated

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $20.88-$21.54 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

**Experience**:

- Culinary: 1 year (preferred)
- cooking: 1 year (preferred)
