**Job Summary**: Working closely with the Camp Director, Camp Coordinators play a crucial role in making the camp run smoothly. You’ll help manage daily operations, assist in overseeing the camp staff, and ensure the quality of the programs. This leadership role is perfect for someone who enjoys organization and working behind the scenes to support the entire team.

Summer Camp runs from June 30 to August 22nd for a total of 8 weeks for children ages 3 to 12. Camp Coordinators begin prior to camp, June 16th.

Note, Summer Camp Coordinator wage is to be determined based on experience and qualifications.

Staff training will take place on June 26 and June 27 - availability for these dates is **mandatory**.

Previous experience or volunteering with children is mandatory.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
- Completes accurate program records, including but not limited to Attendance Reports, Incident Reports, Logbook Documentation and other Camp JCC policies/procedures/forms.
- Plan, supervisor, run, and evaluate creative programming for campers and provide support to entirety of summer camp team (~16 staff)
- Responsible for ensuring counsellors and staff are aware of any medical concerns or special needs within their group, while maintaining confidentiality requirements. Provide support to these staff to ensure campers receive support required.
- Assist in supervision of campers, as needed or when support is sought out.
- Assist in supervision and evaluation of camp staff, with support from Camp Director.
- Ensure that all camp supplies, materials, and resources are available to staff when they require them. Occasionally shop for camp supplies.
- Assist with camper recruitment.
- Work cooperatively with Camp Director to facilitate staff scheduling, orientation and training.
- Ensures all program records and/or camper information / documentation is stored confidentially and safely.
- Provide frequent, actionable, specific and timely feedback to team members in a positive and growth-oriented way.
- Work toward a high-quality program by making recommendations, highlighting recurring problems, identifying and addressing weaknesses, and generally observing areas for improvement and communicating to Camp Director
- Create a positive and fun environment by leading games, songs, and other activities during transitions, snacks/meals, drop off/pick up periods, recreation, and swim time.
- Attend and help facilitate staff meetings and trainings
- Maintain positive relations with caregivers, campers, and other JCC staff
- Ensure camps run efficiently and support instructors in delivering meaningful programming
- Additional duties as outlined by the Camp Director._

**Additional Qualifications/Skills**
- Comfortable and enjoys working with children
- Comfortable leading trainings, activities, and evaluations
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Comfortable spending long periods of time outdoors
- Comfortable in water and/or pools

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 weeks

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
