Site Cook
- Job Duties
- Develop and deliver food prepared for children
- Provide a safe kitchen environment
- Record necessary information e.g. food substitutions, fridge temps, and food temps.
- Be aware of food allergies, restrictions, and any children with anaphylactic allergies
- Allergy/food restriction list posted in kitchen as well as children with anaphylactic
- Maintain clean dishes, work stations, cooking equipment and food storage areas in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Maintain excellent records of the menus (for 30 days), changes that were made and all substitutions
- Current week’s menu and the following week menu to be posted
- Maintain good communication with staff, parents, and children
- Ensure confidentiality of privileged information
- Maintain adherence to all T.T.E.L.C. policies and procedures, including safety requirements
- Work cooperatively and effectively as a team member by communicating and contributing information on a continuous basis
- Be knowledgeable of any changes that occur with the Health Unit as well as CCEYA
- You must be accountable
- Follow instructions from parents with children that have allergies or food restrictions
- Maintain open, friendly relations with staff and families
- Continue attending workshops that may be provided through the health unit
- Demonstrate behaviour that is professional, ethical, and responsible
- Assist with other duties as required
- Wear a hair net
- Develop grocery list for following week

Cook Supervisor Duties
- Required to do weekly grocery shop.
- Required to put all food/supply deliveries away at the Main Site
- Deliveries to sites as required (Wheatley, Merlin, Chatham, Paincourt and Grande Pointe)
- Ensure that all food storage areas and freezers are clean and organized
- Receive menu and recipe suggestions from Site Cooks
- Develop seasonal menus
- Develop weekly grocery orders for all sites
- Place orders through food services
- Ensure that all Site Cooks are maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen at all times.
- Conduct all Site Cook quarterly evaluations
- Update/develop order sheets, order guides and cleaning sheets
- Have a good working knowledge of excel and the ability to learn other computer programs as needed.
- Facilitate all staff meetings which will update cooks on any new requirements, menu suggestions and overall cooking suggestions.
- Report damaged/faulty equipment to Director

**Requirements**:

- Current Food Handlers Certificate (good for 5 years)
- Up to Date Immunizations (Yellow Card or Titre print out)
- Current 2 Step TB Skin Test
- Current First Aid/Infant/Child/CPR Level C
- Vulnerable Sector Check (issued within 6 months of employment)
- Additional onboard training as assigned
- Excellent organizational, time management and multi tasking abilities
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Capacity to work in a fast-pace environment that requires quick decision making
- Manual dexterity required
- Ability to stand for extended periods
