**Position Overview**:
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Mechanical Drafter will create detailed manufacturing drawings and support order processing for custom metal and fabric products in the transportation industry. Using an Excel-based tool, you will generate project-specific drawings and packing lists, ensuring accurate and timely order fulfillment. Attention to detail, dependability, and clear communication with the manufacturing team are key to delivering high-quality work.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Manufacturing Drawings**: Create and revise detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings using CAD software (Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
- **Order Processing**: Utilize an internal Excel-based configurator to process configured and size-to-order product requests.
- **Document Generation**: Generate accurate order drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and packing lists based on configuration data.
- **Documentation**: Convert sketches, verbal instructions, and product specifications into production-ready documentation.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and resolve any design issues.
- **File Management**: Maintain drawing files and documentation according to company standards.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Support the ongoing improvement of drawing standards, documentation, and configuration tools.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- 2-5 years of drafting experience in a manufacturing or metalworking environment. Previous trade experience in the metalworking industry is preferred.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Basic knowledge of Excel; experience using Excel-based configurators or tools is a plus.
- Strong understanding of fabrication drawings, tolerances, and welding standards.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively.
- Hands-on experience with welding, sheet metal, or fabrication processes is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with collaborative tools or ERP systems (e.g., MS Teams, SharePoint, Monday, or similar) is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, time management, and operational focus skills.
- DEP in Industrial Drafting or ACS in Computer-Aided Design and Drafting with a focus on mechanical drafting.
- Bilingualism is an asset
