- Reporting to the Ontario Regional Business Manager, the Oncology Therapeutic Specialist is responsible for achieving annual sales targets and business objectives in the assigned territory (Toronto) and assigned therapeutic area, including successfully launching future therapeutic area indications for our products and assets. These objectives, in alignment with the Regional Sales Management Plan, are achieved through partnering with physicians and other healthcare professionals in teaching and community cancer centers with the goal of closing health care gaps and improving patient outcomes.
- The Oncology Therapeutic Specialist is empowered to own the business for their assigned territory and therapeutic area, to optimize opportunities with a focus on improving the customer and patient experiences across the care continuum. To do so, the Oncology Therapeutic Specialist will need to comprehend and analyze the business holistically, based on a solid comprehension of the account healthcare ecosystem (stakeholder and account mapping, treatment pathway and testing journey).
- Based on this comprehensive understanding of the ecosystem, the Oncology Therapeutic Specialist develops a therapeutic area account business plan aligned with the Regional Sales objectives and account imperatives stated in the Regional Sales Management Plan, with initiatives and learning programs also aligned with the health care professional's needs. These initiatives will include local non-promotional activities to support the account’s ecosystem readiness and treatment pathway optimization, to achieve efficiencies with patient identification, diagnosis, and treatment. In accordance with the Regional Sales Management Plan, the Oncology Therapeutic Specialist will co-develop the Shared Oncology Therapeutic Specialist Territory Level Tactical Plans with their Oncology Therapeutic Specialist peers, with the goal of optimizing the holistic business potential for our product in the account.
- The Oncology Therapeutic Specialist will engage with relevant stakeholders of the Multi-Disciplinary Team while ensuring a customer focused approach. To do so, the Oncology Therapeutic Specialist will adopt a multichannel approach to customer engagement, to meet customer needs & preference and bring value in an agile way.
- The Oncology Therapeutic Specialist will work collaboratively with their local geographical sales team, and cross functional customer facing teams to develop and implement common action plans to achieve local and organizational goals. The ability to work in both a team environment, as well as individually, is essential.
- The Oncology Therapeutic Specialist represents our company in a complex business environment that is constantly being shaped by competitive activities, government legislation, hospital practices and technological developments. This includes work on but not limited to formulary listings, Pharmacy and Therapeutics committees and navigation through complex hospital environments including Oncology Pharmacy and Oncology, Pathology and Genetics Departments.

- Your key assignments as Oncology Therapeutic Specialist:

- Develop and maintain expertise in the relevant oncology areas of expertise as required by the position.
- Launch new indications successfully.
- Develop and implement account business plans.
- Achieve sales and business objectives within the designated territory.
- Develop and implement integrated customer plans leading to our company's oncology product adoption in each assigned cancer centers.
- Partner with stakeholders in the development and implementation of strategies and tactics to secure and improve reimbursement as well as to ensure optimal listings and usage of assigned oncology products in the assigned institutions.
- Develop and maintain expertise on institution decision-making processes related to healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and oncology.
- Support the development and implementation of optimal patient pathway processes.
- Assist centers to overcome challenges in the biomarker & diagnostic testing if relevant.
- Establish and maintain contacts with key institution stakeholders (including, but not limited to, Medical Oncologists, Pathologists, Geneticists, Oncology Pharmacists, Oncology nurses) to adequately assist in the design of usage protocols and care pathways.
