Production Supervisor Manufacturing Operations

The Production Supervisor is responsible to ensure that production requirements and assignments are met, help prioritize work schedules, ensure that appropriate production breakdowns are dealt with. This position works 12 hour rotating continental shifts, days and nights.

**Responsibilities**:

- Accountable for the health and safety of employees and ensure compliance with all established Health & Safety rules/regulations and the Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Accountable for manufacturing metrics for their shift.
- Manage shop floor performance
- Conduct required audits as necessary - SOP, safety, 5S, Process etc
- Conduct regular employee communication meetings on shift.
- Track training for all hourly employees on shift
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity relating to product, process and quality system. Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system. Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels. Verify the implementation of solutions. Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
- Ensure production flow of processes by reducing/eliminating bottlenecks on a shift by shift basis.
- Employee Scheduling:

- Ensure shift is properly staffed by qualified employees. Work with Gate House Attendant regarding any absent employees and open positions on shift.
- Communicate any changes in staffing to payroll to ensure employees are properly paid
- Follow up with employees regarding absenteeism

**Qualifications**:

- Post Secondary education - Mechanical Engineering Technologist would be an asset
- 5 plus years experience supervising in a unionized manufacturing environment
- Automotive experience is an asset
- Previous shift work experience is an asset
- Microsoft Office - excel, word, Powerpoint
- Strong communication skills - written and spoken

**Hours of Work**:

- 12 hr shifts
- Rotating continental 36 hours one week 48 hours second week
- Rotation of days 7:30am-7:30pm to nights 7:30pm-7:30am biweekly

**Salary**: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:
