As an Apprentice Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, you will work under the guidance of experienced technicians to learn the skills necessary to maintain, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or continue a career as a heavy equipment mechanic.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty equipment, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to perform repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area or service truck.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures at all times.
- Complete training modules and attend workshops to enhance technical skills.
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced technicians.
- Good communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various conditions.
- **Must have a valid class 5 drivers licence with a clean drivers abstract.**:
