The **Manufacturing Equipment Specialist** reports to the Manufacturing Manager and will play a key role in ensuring manufacturing efficiencies are met. This role will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance. You will work on the manufacturing team to minimize equipment downtime, maximize equipment efficiency and oversee new equipment setup.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and work with maintenance department to diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system issues.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure seamless equipment operation and mínimal downtime.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to increase equipment longevity and performance.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and equipment performance.
- Assist in equipment installation, modification, and upgrades to enhance production capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Provide training and guidance to operators on equipment use and minor troubleshooting.
- Train other Manufacturing employees in equipment operation to maximize productivity and efficiency
- Work with vendors and suppliers to source replacement parts and technical support as needed.
- Other duties as assigned, including manufacturing processes when not working on equipment
**Qualifications & Skills**
- Strong computer skills, including experience with maintenance software, diagnostic tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial technology preferred
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in equipment maintenance within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs and automated systems (preferred)
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Hands-on experience with tools and diagnostic equipment for repairs and maintenance
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, if required
- Previous experience working in cannabis, food or other regulated industries is an asset
**Work Conditions**
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Location: Saskatoon, SK
- Compensation: Competitive salary and benefits package

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
