Wizard’s Loft opened at the beginning of 2020. Although our retail operation has been in the Red Deer Nerd Community for close to 10 years.

Wizard’s Loft sells all types of tabletop games such as Magic the Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer, Pokémon, and of course, board games The venue hosts tournaments and events for these games, while the main floor hosts the board game café. Customers can come play games from the library while they enjoy a bite to eat and a beverage - whether that is a café latte or a sleeve of local beer.

**We are currently hiring for the following Retail positions: Full Time Sales Associate**

This position that is also very community oriented. We have a large customer base that regularly visits as well as a growing group of new customers. Required tasks can vary from day to day based on need. This position will also lead to the opportunity to grow within the company.

The current job entails:

- Ensuring an attractive storefront layout to create an exceptional experience for all visitors.
- Picking and sorting trading card games
- Performing transactions through our point of sale system
- Running daily events both upstairs and downstairs
- Stocking/restocking shelves along with keeping accurate inventory
- Learning and maintaining a constantly changing knowledge base
- Standard cleaning of business (Bathroom, Event Area, Counter, Fixtures, Floors)
- Knowledge of our food, beverage and café selections
- Some café Duties may be shared when opening or closing.

**Job Requirements**:

- Must be 18+. (ProServe certification also required)
- Carry/lift up to 50lbs (up and down stairs as well)
- Morning/Evening/Weekend availability (10 am to 12 pm).
- Smart Phone (Company app required)
- Proficient in computer skills
- Knowledgeable in some Trading Card Games (TCG), including Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, One Piece, Digimon Card Game, Force of Will, Flesh and Blood, Lorcana and/or Pokemon
- Enthusiastic about board games with knowledge of a variety of games
- Well-versed in board games and capable of introducing them to customers
- Able to work independently (with mínimal supervision) and take initiative
- Strong interpersonal skills for building customer relationships
- Experienced understanding of retail operation, including maintaining store standards, cash handling, and merchandise presentation.
- Detail-oriented and capable of completing storefront-related tasks (including sales, pickups, customer follow-up, offering game recommendations).
- Proficient in time management, adept at handling daily store tasks efficiently

**What are we looking for in a person?**

We are looking for an outgoing individual who is personable, easy to talk to, and good at conveying information (Both internally and with customers). They are detail oriented, organized, accountable and assertive with a willingness to learn.

Someone who may have creative ideas that are committed to the future growth of the business as well as wanting to be involved in the community we have cultivated and maintained for years.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 32 per week

Shift:

- 8 hour shift

Work days:

- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
