The _Canalta Group of Companies_ is a privately held Canadian owned company focusing on the manufacturing and service of industrial control and measurement equipment, specifically targeting the gas industry and supplying product internationally. We are currently looking for a **Fabrication Shop Helper** at our Welding shop location in **Red Deer, AB**.

What will you do?
- Operate and maintain various equipment including overhead cranes, forklifts, grinders, welding equipment and other hand tools.
- Assist with the movement of materials and projects through the welding shop including loading and unloading.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in the shop and yard.
- General labour at the welding shop including seasonal upkeep of the yard maintenance.
- Participate in all safety and job specific training as required.
What do you need?
- A valid Class 5 drivers license
- Completion of or enrollment in English 30-2 and Math 30-3
- Completion of or enrollment in Physics 20, Chemistry 20, or Science 20
- A genuine Interest in welding as a career with a desire to pursue an apprenticeship
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Willingness to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, a respirator, and gloves as needed
Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM
