Brazeau County is looking for a seasonal **Rock Truck Driver** to join our Public Works Construction team from May to October. This position offers a busy season of work with the opportunity for paid overtime. You will receive job and safety training and provided personal protective equipment.

This equipment operator’s primary responsibility will be to operate a Rock Truck on various construction jobs within the County. The operator may be required to carry out other related duties in other areas.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Operates rock truck for various road maintenance and construction functions. o Services and performs minor maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Ability to operate other construction equipment when needed
- Performs various labourer duties as required.
- Adheres to guidelines as set out in Brazeau County’s policies and administrative directives, and the

Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Accountable for working in compliance with the _Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act,_ regulations and codes, and participates in the Health and Safety Program.
- Overtime and weekend work will be required as necessary by operational needs.
- Shift work may be implemented as required, this may include emergency response call outs.
- To undertake any other reasonable duty, commensurate with the classification and responsibility of the position, across the department in order to meet service priorities and business continuity requirements.
- May be required in the event of a municipal emergency to support the emergency operations centre and incident action/recovery plan.

**COMPETENCY AREAS**:
Education/Training:

- High School Diploma or equivalent.

Licenses/Certifications/Designation:

- Valid Class 5
- Satisfactory Five-Year Commercial Driver’s Abstract is required.

Experiences/Knowledge/Skills:

- Minimum three years’ experience is required
- Ability to operate other equipment including loader is considered an asset
- A strong service focus with good verbal and written communication skills are required to communicate effectively.
- Ability to carry out physical labor
- Basic computer skills are required

Working Conditions:
Physical Requirements:

- This role requires sitting for extended periods while driving as well as regular, frequent and sustained peeks of concentration throughout the day. Labourer activities require considerable physical effort such as moving, standing, lifting, or pulling awkward objects.

**SHIFT AND RATE OF PAY**:

- Union Grid 7 ($32.33 to $37.58 per hour)
- Designated as Seasonal (seasonal work approximately from May to October)
- Hours of Work per Collective Agreement; Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
- The probationary period applies
- Area of work encompasses the Brazeau County area
