- Security Supervisor - Downtown Toronto
**SECURITY SHIFT SUPERVISOR JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

To provide consistent service delivery by ensuring the effective supervision and control of all site level activities in the absence of the Site Supervisor, in a manner consistent with the Brookfield service requirements and the Contractor’s standards. Maintain a positive relationship with Brookfield representatives and their guests; assist the Site Supervisor in ensuring that all security officers adhere to:
Ø Dress, deportment and uniform standards;
Ø All aspects of the daily operations of the site as assigned;
Ø Fulfill the responsibilities and carry out the duties of subordinate staff as circumstances dictate;
Ø Be familiar with all Brookfield Standard Operating Procedures and Emergency Procedures;
Ø Ensure problems and requests are effectively resolved;
Ø Represent and promotes the Contractor while maintaining Brookfield interests both internally and externally;
**_ TECHNICAL SKILLS _**

Ø Knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of all direct and indirect reports;
Ø Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook;
Ø Knowledge of security technology (i.e. CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, Intrusion, and Incident Management and other security-related systems); CCURE is an asset;
Ø Knowledge and understanding of applicable federal, provincial and municipal legislation and regulations in the area of security.

**_ FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES _**
- _OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT _

Ø Direct responsibility for supervising a designated shift comprised of a Security Operator, and a number of front-line security personnel;
Ø Provide ongoing support to all Brookfield staff on security-related issues;
Ø Establish and maintain property-level and strategic contacts through regular interaction;
Ø Maintain positive and constructive relationships with Brookfield staff and external clients by providing timely and accurate support as required to ensure open communication;
Ø Review security incident reports and take follow up actions as necessary;
Ø Respond to calls for service and security-related incidents as required, and conduct other operational duties as assigned by the Brookfield Manager Security Services.
- _ PERSONNEL AND STAFFING _

Ø Assist Site Supervisor to set individual and team objectives within the Security Department and ensure these are achieved to a high and consistent standard;
Ø Provide mentoring and support to security personnel with a view to maintaining high standards of security and related practices;
Ø Assists Site Supervisor to complete 30 & 90-day Probationary Report with new guards

Ø Assists Site Supervisor to complete yearly evaluations of guard staff

Ø Monitors day-to-day staff performance

Ø Recommends any/all staff changes (promotions, probation, part-time to full-time, terminations, NTR’s) to RSSI and Brookfield Managers for review and approval

Ø Attends all staff meetings as required

Ø Communicates RSSI/Site expectations for conduct and Performance

Ø Closely monitors dress and deportment - leads by example
- _ SITE SPECIFIC DUTIES _

Ø Assist Site Supervisor to test guard staff on a quarterly basis with information contained in the Post Orders, or using any other relevant information provided by the Security Managers;
Ø Assist the Site Supervisor in training security staff as required, and ensure training checklists are completed and submitted to the Security Managers;

Ø Inform the Site Supervisor of all issues that may have an impact on the security services or staff performance;
Ø Provide recommendations to the Site Supervisor;
Ø Review all logs and the guard tour patrol reports on a daily and provide a summary of patrol proficiency to the Site Supervisor;
Ø Assist the Site Supervisor to conduct and/or prepare frequent audits of equipment such as radios (and accessories), keys, Guard Tour devices, CCTV, storage and computer systems and provide Brookfield with records of these audits;
Ø Supervise special events such as concerts or tenant appreciation events and ensure all extra coverage guards receive detailed instructions;
Ø Ensure all staff complete detailed and accurate incident reports before the end of their shift and within a reasonable time frame;
Ø Supervise security incident response and respond to all major incidents. If required, debrief after th
