**Meinhardt Fine Food**s is currently seeking a **Cook** based out of **Pacific Centre **location in Vancouver, BC. This role is Full-Time/Temporary and reports to the Store Manager. The temporary period for this role is expected to be one year.

Meinhardt Fine Foods is Western Canada’s culinary destination. Our goal is to serve up a line of delicious freshly prepared foods, and compelling signature items, all delivered in a fresh and entertaining environment where you will want to “feed your curiosity”. Meinhardt Fine Foods has been a vibrant part of South Granville since 1996 and boasts some of the best olive oils in the city, a large take-out deli, along with all kinds of unique items sourced from around the world.

**Qualifications & skills required**:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a high volume restaurant or production kitchen
- Must possess strong communication, time management and organizational skills
- Excellent command of the English language both verbal and written
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn is of utmost importance

**Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Ensure that our food quality, quantity, freshness, and presentation will meet Meinhardt’s high standards (includes following specific recipes)
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by company
- Document all required temperature readings and procedures for food safety purposes
- Effectively maintains full levels in the deli case, hot bar, and salad bar
- Ensure all prepared items are labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated (FIFO)
- Keep department continually clean, well maintained and organized
- Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner
- Ensure all catering orders are completed on time
- Fulfill all hot/cold food requests in a timely manner
- Give every customer immediate and undivided attention
- Document and monitor waste and spoilage
- Train and mentor all kitchen team members
- Work with the Chef to perform monthly inventory
- Set up work station according to company guidelines
- To perform other duties and tasks assigned, as consistent with the nature and scope of the position
