Clausen Contracting is looking for an experienced carpenter (ICI - Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) to help lead small and large scale commercial interior building projects throughout the GTA. Working with a strong team of in-house general carpenters, we're looking for someone who wants a player-coach role to help with the building aspect while also training the younger team members from time to time. Clausen has been operating in the GTA for over 40 years, and now under new ownership, continues to expand with new and long-standing clients, and with that comes more projects and more expertise needed in-house. Clients range from commercial office tower owners and operators, professional sports teams facilities, retail and commercial buildings, restaurants, and from time to time some residential projects.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform various on site building skills with high proficiency in the following: steel framing, drywalling (partitions, demising walls), ceiling systems (T-Bar grid layouts, custom ceilings, and GWB), doors and door frames, glazing frame preparation systems (PC350, Envirowall), door hardware, washroom fixtures, among other building elements.
- Excellent ability to read, understand and work with architectural and engineered drawings to meet the project requirements
- Strong understanding of Ontario Building Code and ensuring projects are built to standards
- Work and laisse with other trades and our sub-contracting partners as needed on site to help ensure our projects are on track and coordinated efficiently - act as the eyes and ears on sites when required
- Communicate with team management and project managers to ensure materials and logistics are in order
- Support less experienced team members to help build their skills and lead by example through best practises
- Strong communications (verbal and written) as working with clients on site will be a valued and needed skillset from time to time
- Experience with health and safety protocols and any safety training certifications a definite asset (updated safety training will be provided if needed)
- Drivers license and vehicle required to get to various sites.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $30.00-$55.00 per hour
