**Position Summary**:
The Capacity Planning Coordinator will approve and allocate slots and planning related scheduled within airside and terminal facility constraints. This role will report to the Manager, Capacity allocation and assist with performing the assessment process for the airport slot approval process.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Allocates slot and planning related schedules within airside and terminal facility constraints, producing gate, departure counter, inspection agency models to determine if demand exceeds capacity.
- Calibrates all facility allocation tools to reflect existing and future phases of resource availability such as updating baseline data on gate availability during construction and associated commissioning and decommissioning of gates.
- Creates scenarios pertaining to airside and terminal aircraft allocations to respond to senior management and airline requests for runway, apron and building configuration and airline terminal reassignments such as the impact of moving air carriers between terminals
- Maintains the air carrier registry for the Toronto Pearson International Airport.
- Advises management on matters relating to resource planning best practices.
- Performs the duties of the Capacity Planning Business Analyst in their absence or when the work volume warrants.
- Undertakes other Operations Planning projects, as assigned.
- Other duties as required
**Qualifications**:
- Diploma from a post-secondary institution in aviation related field or equivalent work experience in aviation operational environment and in analysis of large databases
- 4 years of Gating, Check-in and/or Terminal Coordination experience considering the IATA Worldwide Scheduling Procedures.
- Database Administration Experience would be an asset
- Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
- Knowledge of Statistics; airport or airline operations
- Ability to conceptualize all airport operational phases when considering the processing of aircraft, passengers, baggage and the resulting airport capacities
- Expertise in resource planning in a multi-functional technical environment
- In-depth experience with aircraft scheduling and airport resource utilization
- Demonstrated ability to work well in team environments
- Good understanding of the airport/airline business and I.T. processes
- Ability to: conduct research; organize and prepare reports; clearly communicate orally and in writing; Database administration, Complex Standard Query Language (SQL) syntax for queries and complex Standard Schedule Information Manual SCR messages
- Excellent problem solving skills and adaptability / flexibility are also required
The GTAA is a federally regulated private sector. The Government of Canada has suspended mandatory vaccination requirement for federally regulated transportation sector workers. The GTAA continues to monitor government and health developments relating to COVID -19 and may re-introduce the Vaccination and proof of Vaccination requirements in the Policy at any time.
