ABOUT THIS ROLE
We have a unique opportunity to gain valuable work experience in our Warehouse department as a Warehouse Clerk Summer Student for a 4-month term from May to August. If you are currently enrolled in a relevant program, this opportunity will help prepare you for a future career in the utility sector. At Burlington Hydro Inc. As a Warehouse Clerk Summer Student, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute as part of our team, work alongside and learn from experienced and talented professionals. Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain, you will support the Stores team with a variety of projects. At Burlington Hydro Inc. (BHI), we believe in diverse talent and that students add value and help contribute innovative ideas to support our success. This position requires you to be onsite at our 1340 Brant Street location.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review, create and update work instruction process documents for the Purchasing & Stores department
- Implement stock location strategy in the warehouse/yard
- Develop process documents to align with the stock location strategy
- Integrate stock locations into iXp
- Execute cycle stock process with the stockkeeper
- Assist with various stockroom and yard duties as directed by the Stockkeeper
- Other duties as assigned

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Active enrolment in a recognized post-secondary educational institution; concentration in Supply Chain/Operations is an asset
- Knowledge of warehouse processes
- Process improvement interest/experience
- Development of formal work processes
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills
- Strong work ethic with a positive approach to work and co-workers; energetic and motivated with an excellent attendance record
- Possess and maintain a level of physical fitness essential to do the work
